In the extrusion processing of polymer materials, the pressure fluctuation of the extruder is the "invisible killer" of product defects. Traditional single screw/twin-screw extruders, due to the non volumetric conveying principle and the influence of melt rheological properties, have a pressure fluctuation amplitude of ± 10%~15%, which can cause problems such as uneven product size and external defects.
As a "pressure stabilizer", the melt gear pump eliminates fluctuations through the principle of volumetric forced delivery. Its core is a pair of meshing gears, which form a closed "volume unit" between the tooth groove and the pump body during rotation. The suction side volume increases to suck in the melt, and the discharge side volume decreases to quantitatively push out the melt. The flow rate is strictly linearly related to the rotational speed. If the rotational speed is stable, the flow rate will be stable, and upstream fluctuations can be isolated to control pressure fluctuations within ± 1%.
It is widely used in precision film and sheet extrusion, chemical fiber and non-woven fabric spinning, granulation and recycling modification and other scenarios, which can significantly improve product quality, increase output, reduce energy consumption, and become a standard configuration for high-end extrusion production lines.
