PC Lampshade Extrusion Melt Pump

The PC lampshade profile melt pump is a critical piece of equipment in PC lampshade extrusion production. It is primarily used to precisely control the flow rate and pressure of the PC melt, ensuring both the extrusion quality of the lampshade and production efficiency.

This gear pump operates based on the volumetric displacement principle. When the motor drives the drive gear to rotate, it meshes with the driven gear. As the gears disengage from the meshing zone, the volume between the teeth gradually increases, creating a vacuum. The PC melt is drawn into the pump chamber by the resulting pressure differential. As the gears continue to rotate, the melt filling the tooth spaces is conveyed to the discharge chamber. When the gears re-engage, the volume between the teeth decreases, forcing the melt out through the outlet under pressure.

Pressure and Flow Stabilization for Dimensional Accuracy: PC melt is susceptible to instability in pressure and flow during screw conveying in extruders due to multiple factors. The melt pump's positive displacement volumetric conveying, achieved through precision gear meshing, precisely regulates melt output pressure and flow rate. This effectively eliminates fluctuations, preventing defects such as uneven wall thickness and excessive ovality in lampshades, ensuring consistent product dimensions.

Secondary Plasticization for Enhanced Melt Quality: The high-precision gear meshing within the pump body induces secondary shearing and mixing of the PC melt. This process further melts partially unmelted raw material particles, expels micro-bubbles from the melt, and uniformly disperses additives. This significantly improves melt homogenization, enhancing the transparency, gloss, and mechanical properties (such as impact resistance) of PC lampshades.

Reduced Load, Optimized Production Conditions: The melt pump shoulders primary melt conveyance pressure, substantially lowering extruder screw backpressure. This reduces wear on the extruder motor, screw, and barrel, extending equipment lifespan while decreasing energy consumption and downtime due to failures.

Adapting to Processes, Enhancing Production Flexibility: For PC lampshade production of varying specifications, the melt pump precisely matches extrusion volume by adjusting speed, enabling rapid changeovers. Its stable melt supply reliably supports subsequent processes.

Selection Criteria

Flow Range: Select a melt pump with an appropriate flow range based on PC lampshade production volume requirements to ensure sufficient melt delivery during production.

Temperature Resistance: PC processing typically occurs at 260-300°C. The pump must withstand these temperatures to ensure reliable operation under high heat.

Material Selection: Considering PC melt properties, pump materials should exhibit excellent corrosion and wear resistance. Nitrided steel or tool steel are recommended.
