A rubber extruder melt pump (also called rubber melt gear pump) is a positive-displacement precision device installed between the extruder and die, dedicated to high-viscosity, heat-sensitive rubber melt conveying, pressurization, metering and pressure stabilization. It has become an indispensable part of modern rubber extrusion lines.
Operating on the gear meshing principle, the pump draws melt from the extruder into gear cavities, then discharges it at a steady volume and pressure as gears rotate. This design eliminates screw-induced pressure pulsation, controlling die pressure fluctuation within ±1%, greatly improving dimensional consistency of profiles, sheets, hoses and seals.
